Drake Rick Ross Feud Escalates: Ross Attacked in Vancouver

Drake Rick Ross

Rapper Rick Ross' longstanding feud with Drake took a chaotic turn when Ross was allegedly attacked in Vancouver after playing Kendrick Lamar’s diss track "Not Like Us" during his set. Which I have heard was a executive decision of Rick Ross. Even though Ross apparently played his classic hits that he had collaborated with Drake on e.g. 'Im On One' and 'Maybach Music'. This incident reignited their public spat, dragging Ross' ex, Tia Kemp, into the mix with a flurry of social media exchanges.

Video from Ross' performance at the Ignite Music Festival shows the rapper being punched by concertgoers (who some say have strong ties to the Hells Angel Motorcycle Club). Better yet hip-hop pundit DJ Akademiks and others are reporting that this is the youtube channel of the alleged attacker. The beat down was in response to Ross ending his set with Lamar’s track, which disses Drake. Although Ross hasn't commented directly, Drake (a Canadian) liked an Instagram post detailing the attack and warned against causing trouble in Canada if you have issues with him.

On Canada Day (July 1st), Drake posted cheerful Instagram stories, which some interpreted as subtle digs at Ross. Ross' ex Tia Kemp commented on Drake’s post, calling him “my goat,” to which Drake responded affectionately. Ross reportedly fired back with a now-deleted “Pedo vs granny” comment, referencing both Drake and Kemp. Kemp posted a video slamming Ross’ “granny” jab, highlighting that Ross is also a grandfather, which Drake liked.

Context

for those who don't know, the Ross-Drake feud, once marked by collaborations, spiraled earlier this year amid Drake’s beef with Lamar. It included diss tracks and bizarre allegations. For instance, Drake’s leaked track "Push Ups" took shots at Lamar and Ross, prompting Ross to release "Champagne Moments," accusing Drake of using ghostwriters and undergoing cosmetic procedures. Later, petty jabs were thrown. Ross used the hashtag #BBLDrizzy, hinting at a Brazilian butt lift, a nickname that stuck even though Drake denied the surgery. But then, Drake shared texts accusing Ross of being "angry and racist" and joked about getting a two-for-one nose job deal for himself and his mother.

The Reactions

Even 50 cent put his 2 cents in and trolled Ross by posting videos of the alleged attack and Kemp’s response, predicting Ross won't return to Canada. Even Bobby Shmurda mocked the incident in a now-deleted video, laughing for nearly a minute. Although Drake’s feud with Lamar had cooled, it flared up again when Lamar performed "Not Like Us" repeatedly at a Los Angeles concert, taking indirect shots at Drake. Lamar's unreleased video for the track adds more fuel to the fire. Rick Ross might want to reconsider his playlist next time he’s north of the border—Canada Day celebrations can get pretty heated when Drake's involved.
